5 Things You Can Do For Yourself Right Now

Want to start taking care of yourself and feel better right now?! Here are five things you can do for yourself right now to get well and some suggestions on how you can do it.

  1. Get enough sleep.

  2. Drink lots of water.

  3. Eat fresh foods.

  4. Move your body.

  5. Journal thoughts of gratitude.

Start with those five and thrive!

  2. Drink lots of water. I love my Yeti cup that goes with me EVERYWHERE. It’s probably more important to me than my phone since I am always thirsty so it’s literally with me everywhere and the big size, allows me to drink a lot without worrying that I will run out before I get a chance to refill again. I drink about 2-3 of these 36oz Yeti bottles. If you need to change it up, do a couple of cups of iced water with lemon for a refreshing change and even put it in a fancy glass cup with a slice inside to help you get excited about water!

  3. Eat fresh food and if you love to garden or go outside, just planting a few things that you can pick and nibble on daily like tomato, green beans, or lettuce, will help you get some veggies and fresh foods in your body. When your body gets used to this, it will crave this and actually not want as much of the processed stuff and will crave the higher quality ingredients and freshly made stuff.

  4. Move your body doing something you love. Go for a neighborhood walk, dance, swim, play a sport, learn a martial arts, join a gym (more about Egan’s coming in January 2024 blog) or even just clean up around the house and pick things up and vacuum! Get the blood flowing and if you can do it outdoors, even better!

  5. Journal and let out your thoughts, good or bad on paper. Find a place to release and then of course focus on the good and write 5 little things you are grateful for every day. Journaling is a part of my morning routine you can read about HERE or in my book and it actually helps ground and center me to not only appreciate the good, but also get excited to look out for things to be thankful for throughout the day to write in my journal later.
