Calendar Audit
It’s that time of the year already! Post Christmas and pre-new year’s is a reflective time of the year because it’s a time to look back, before looking forward.
For years I have been doing a “calendar audit.” Something I learned from John Maxwell that he and other highly successful entrepreneurs and professionals I follow do.
They spend a good chunk of time, reflecting on the past year looking at their calendar and finances to see where they spent their time and money recalling think about:
What went well?
What didn’t?
What was a good use of my energy and time?
What wasn’t?
They journal pen to paper their reflections answering questions and it helps them to almost sum up the year. Add closure. Before setting themselves up for the next year. And I have found that it helps me tremendously to slow down and be grateful for all that happened or even didn’t happen in the last year and thanking God before jumping into the plans of a new one.
finding peace by piece:
Do your calendar audit. I usually like to do this alone and dedicate a good 3 hours to this and pack up my planner and notebook for a 24 hour staycation to reflect. You will feel empowered learning about yourself and the past year of your life to better set yourself up for the year ahead!
