Gratitude Journal
Want to notice the little things in your life more that will fill your heart with more gratitude?
Start a gratitude journal.
I’ve been doing this DAILY practice for YEARS now after hearing about it from Rachel Hollis. I haven’t missed a day since because this little thing has helped me that much to notice how much I have to be grateful for.
I’ve talked about it in my book and in my morning routine, but here’s how simple it is for you to do it too:
Get a journal you will love or any scraps of paper works too!
Pick a set time every day to note down 5 small things you are grateful for that day. Not big things like your family, health, and house, but the small things that happened THAT day like your son shared with you have a bite of his snack, a stranger held the door open for you, your boss gave you a knuckle bump, or your spouse remembered to pick his clothes up off the ground. :)
It should look like this:
Date: Tuesday, 11/1
______
______
______
______
______
That’s it.
Pretty simple, but as you do this consistently, what it does is it give you some time to slow down and realize all that you have to be grateful for.
As you set up your date and blank bullet points for the next day, it also sets up your heart and mind to be ready to look for those things to write down, keeping you aware for the good little things daily. :)
A heart of gratitude will change your attitude.

I like to get a really cute journal to do this in. It’s my little reward whenever I fill one up, to invest in a new one and is something nice that lines my shelves and reminds me of the days/weeks/months/years of gratitude. Maybe even something I can pass down to my kids one day. Check out Da Shop: Books + Curiosities, Logo’s Bookstore, Barnes & Noble, or we have journals at Choco le`a too!
