Pilates at home with Christina

My long time middle school friend / dance sister moved back home from LA and New York and started posting pilates teasers on her IG. It caught my attention because she was consistently on, smiling, motivating, and reminded me of how she always pushed me to be the best version of myself from an early age as we gave it our all on the dance floor.
My friend, Christina Black, is a former professional dancer and now professional pilates trainer. She invited myself and some friends to the park to do a 1 hour pilates session with her and she would cook us a delicious vegan and gluten free lunch. I went mainly to see her and try the lunch since I tried pilates at 24 hour fitness about 15 years ago and it wasn’t my favorite work out…
Until 15 years later now and my body realized it likes this kind of work out because it’s not so “harsh” on my once more able dancer-body. AND I can do it all on a small little area on our living room floor in front of the TV at home.
I never liked working out at home, but I do with Christina! She’s so personable, professional, relatable, and motivating. Seriously, if she wasn’t my friend and I just found her on YouTube, I would still connect with her instantly. The friends I recommended to her, also love her!
I followed along with Christina’s summer series workout of 3 workouts she recommends per week and I’m proud to say I made it to week 9! (That was until I went on vacation then fell off and need to get back on for week 10, 11, and 12! :p) But when I was doing it, my little kids would watch and join along. Even my husband said “she’s really great” and can tell she’s in shape because she DOES all of the exercises FULL OUT WITH YOU and talks in the most soothing and encouraging voice at the same time!
Her workouts are well thought through, have seamless transitions, and a consistent feel, opening, closing, and a nice little background music. What I also love is she separates her workouts by time duration so you can engage in a 20 minute or 45 minute work out, or even just a 5 minute booty blast depending on what works for your schedule. So convenient!
And after doing these workouts and not changing anything else about my diet, I can definitely feel my tummy is tighter and my body feels stronger! I don’t do strength training and know I need to, so will be back on the pilates program with Christina.
