Every second Saturday in October, Makiki Christian Community Church puts on a Harvest Fair. My family and I love to go because they have a very wide selection of yummy baked goods made by the grandma’s and aunties, and uncles, and a rummage sale with a variety of finds including clothes, toys, home goods, holiday decor, bags, dishes, and even a boutique section.
This fair is ideal for families with small kids as it’s not too big so if you’re trying to find something to do for just 1-2 hours, this is it. And there are a lot of free kiddie games and prizes and some pretty cool balloons guys!
Parking is also free, easy, and close by at McKinley High School with police officers helping to escort you across the street.
Food is very simple, but very affordable including chips, burgers, drinks, and iced coffee. However, one dish thing they are known for is their octopus!
This year, I realized there was also a plant sale behind the bathrooms with a nice shady spot to rest a bit while the kids enjoy the playground. It was also perfect since Logo’s Bookstore moved in so took a quick AC break inside their shop and picked up a devotional for a friend.
Overall Makiki Christian Church’s Harvest Fair is a sweet and simple family outing I recommend to support the community while not spending a lot.
