Camp Homelani
Camp Homelani is a beautiful retreat on Oahu’s North Shore in Waialua, owned and operated by The Salvation Army.
I’ve been serving with The Salvation Army for many years and was always encouraged to visit Camp Homelani because it is a treasured space where salvations are held, kids find a safe place to meet Jesus in the summer, and where healing retreats are held throughout the year.
So when I finally made the trip out to help paint benches and get the space ready for another summer of camp with Echelon, the young professional group of The Salvation Army, and our families, I was blown away, by the space. So were my kids!
They have clean cabins right along the beach, private access, lots of green grass with space to play volleyball, basketball, a swing, a gaga pit, and we didn’t even see anything that was inside the buildings as we were they to give the benches a fresh coat of paint.
But the highlight, was their new ninja course (which is legit super hard by the way :p), playground, and the pigs, tortoise, and chickens in the area.
The kids want to come back and stay here for camp, my husband is asking how we can book the place for a group, and I’m trying to figure out when I can come back and give this ninja course a try again! :p

Get out and do some community service work and you may just discover a place that as you work to refresh it, it refreshes your soul!
