What We Ate During Our Air B&B Weekend
Doing a weekend with the girls and wondering what you should eat?
Once a year, my two best girlfriends and I do a birthday retreat to an Air B&B for the weekend. When I shared this with other friends, they were most curious about what we ate when we isolate ourselves in a small town out in nature, and so I am sharing that with you here!
As soon as we land in Seattle, we get a coffee and pick up a pastry from our favorite, The Flora Bakehouse, plus some extras for breakfast the next day.
Then we head to the market and each pick out our favorite snacks which include chips and dip, popcorn, cookies, and I of course pack Choco le`a chocolates for the trip with me. We then purchase the usual breakfast stuff like eggs, bacon or arabiki sausages, milk and the staples sourdough bread, some kind of soup and charcuterie fixings. Then, we pick out ingredients for the meal we are going to cook for each other which is usually some sort of pasta, salad, and steak. We split the bill evenly three ways.
At the house, we are normally stocked with the cooking oils, spices, coffee, and tea, and we also bring our own rice to make on the stove.
There’s something therapeutic when cooking in someone else’s clean kitchen so we don’t mind it at all and then when we need a break, we always go out to the little town for one meal at a local restaurant.
On this past particular trip, I made a delicious garlic chicken olive oil pasta and you can find that recipe HERE. It was my first time trying it and it was a hit! We also made a lentil soup, pesto sausage pasta, overnight oats, and purchased clam chowder and made a charcuterie board with grapes, cheese, and crackers.
If you want the whole market list, I’m happy to share it in my next email so subscriber now HERE. And if you want to see some of these foods on video, check out the YouTube video below capturing the deliciousness we enjoyed together.
We are fortunate that we organically figured out what our must have staples and food routine would be together early on, so in case you’re planning a trip too, hope this helps you get off to a good start!
