Favorite Pastries in Seattle

Call me your pastry connoisseur! In addition to always searching for the best chocolate shops when I travel, I am also always on the lookout for the best breads and pastries.

And I found my favorite in Beacon Hill, Seattle: The Flora Bakehouse!

When something is really good, I clap after I eat it. And when my best friend Traci’s husband, Kurt, picked this up for us and I ate it for the first time, I clapped.

And then when I went back to Seattle, I asked that she take me here to enjoy more.

What I wasn’t expecting was in addition to the most delicious pastries, was the cutest little shop with an adorable cafe seating area plus an outdoor area on the rooftop, and a really great view of the kitchen where everything was being baked fresh next door. Now this was what I loved to see when I travel. It’s the kind of thing I absolutely love to do is visit other small local businesses, particularly artisans who makes things on site. When I saw the bakers and stood feet away from them with just a glass window between us, I clapped for them. (Yes, I actually clapped for them and they all laughed and I didn’t care! I had to congratulate them and thank them for what they had accomplished for our enjoyment)! :p

I also took out my phone and snapped all these photos because I just didn’t want to forget how beautiful it all was. How well decorated the place was with thought to every detail including the branding on the informational signs on the window to match.

And when I got to see the case and pick out for myself what I wanted, I let out a little squeal of excitement that my friend actually captured of me in a candid moment because she knew that this was going to just make me happy!

That’s what a really great spot can do to you. It’s what I strive for us at Choco le`a to be to other travelers on a search for something really special.

Thank you Flora Bakehouse!

And if you’re in Seattle, I highly recommend you make the stop. You’ll be clapping, taking photos, and squealing too! ;)
