Melted Chocolates

Sometimes life feels like these melted chocolates.

Trying to keep it together, but inside, I’m slowly melting into a puddle that’s about to get all over the place.

When I saw this box that I had forgotten and left in my car all day in the brutally hot sun with no cooler, ice, or protection, I was surprised. I usually take the best care of chocolates and don’t do this, but it had been a pretty rough week. Seeing this reminded me that some things are out of our control. That life gets messy. But even if we are having a melt down, God’s love remains unchanged.

When I showed this box to my kids however, they thought it was hilarious. It was as if God spoke to me through them because they put things into perspective and reminded me that this mess, was still sweet!

They grabbed a spoon and started scooping up the melted chocolates into their mouth and then found things to mix with the chocolate and things to dip in the chocolate. I saw mess and they saw an opportunity to enjoy.

What part of your life feels like a mess? Like you’re about to have a melt down too?

Let’s find peace by piece in knowing that God’s plans are always good and even if things lose their shape and aren’t pretty or the way we’d like them to be, that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy an opportunity with melted chocolates.

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs…” -Isaiah 55:11
