Big Kid Chairs

The 8 and 10 year old are getting big kid chairs.

They chose fancy ones in their favorite colors, that swivel and roll. And my daughter got a plushy pink one with gold legs. They are definitely big kid chairs!

With the move and them getting their own rooms meant we got them their own desks, chairs, etc. And for some reason, just seeing the transition from their shared room that had all the things since it was a nursery including the dresser sets I remember picking out when shopping pregnant with that registry gun at Babies R Us to now this.

It was all going by too fast.

My heart was a little sad to accept the fact that they were growing up.

And although so many parents before me told me this time would fly by and so I tried to treasure it, my heart was still having a hard time accepting that I couldn’t slow it down or stop it.

The only thing that helped was watching the kids’ excitement to grow up, experience something new and have their own space where they could arrange things how they wanted it. They were ready for this new season and I now had to be ready to let them!

Is it time to get big kid chairs?

Whatever season you are going into, let’s find peace by piece in remembering even though we can’t go back or make time stand still, we can treasure the moments going forward and have fun rolling around and spinning it!
