Camping
I’ve always said “camping is not my thing.”
And yet, it has become a thing in my life.
I do not care for the mosquitoes, the salty sticky ocean feeling on my skin and hair, the dirty bathroom, or the work that goes into prepping before or after. BUT, I do love the outdoors, the WiFi free zone and time with family and friends, the simple food and snacks, and the stars in the sky I forget even exist from home with the building and street lights dimming them out.
So I guess in some ways, camping has become not my thing, but our thing. A thing I do with and for my family.
I think that’s how it can be for any of us.
Something may not be our thing until it is. Until we keep going because of the people we love and slowly, we start to find the good in it.
Do you need to go camping?
Let’s find peace by piece in realizing that some of the things we don’t like to do, but our loved ones do, can become some of the things we end up loving too.
“The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” -Psalm 34:7
