Above the Clouds

On a quick neighbor island day trip, our airplane flew below the dark gray rain clouds of Hilo. As it ascended and we made our way up breaking through those clouds with raindrops hitting the window that my face was smashed up against, we came into a clearing. This clearing!

This was the view just above those rain clouds we were below!

Big puffy white clouds were all around, endless blue skies, and the sun shining. It was there, this whole time but it wasn’t visible from down below. As we rose up, the view changed.

And it reminded me that ours can too.

As we continue to push up and not let the darkness be our ceiling, we will find there is a different view ahead. And when you look down to where you were, and where you thought it all was, you will be reminded just how BIG our God is. We are but a speck in the palm of His hand and He can help lift us up if we keep focusing on finding His light beyond the gray clouds.

This was such a beautiful moment that gave me so much peace after a wonderful day off, relaxing with my husband. My phone was put away and I didin’t go online and in fact, I almost didn’t capture this picture because I was caught up in the moment. Thankfully, I came out of my trance when I felt I heard him say, “Hi.”

That’s it. Sometimes God just wants to say “Hi” to us! He’s with us and wants to talk to us if we will liste. And He has made a lot of pretty cool things that He wants to show us.
