Planning For A New Year
Ahhhh the feeling of a totally blank calendar! For now…
But first, make sure you fill your year, your months, your days, your weeks, your days, and down to your hours with what matters most.
If you don’t have a planner or want to try something new, I personally like using the Rifle Paper or Simplified monthly planner to fill in major events and dates so I can see from a glance what my month looks like and where I have time. I then break it down to the daily hour in my Google calendar.
The reason for this is because I know that having big goals are great, but what it really boils down to is the process and the consistency of our daily habits. So the things we do daily like brushing our teeth and taking a bath, are in there just as little progress toward the things that matter most such as health, relationships with my family and faith, need to be blocked off in there.
One awesome thing that has worked for me is at the end of each month, I make notes in my “year in review” section of what that month felt like. Was it busy? Did I go to too many kid birthday parties? Were there major events that I had to do for work? Then it gives me an idea for next year on how each month is a different season, so I need to also be flexible and be sure I am prepared to go with the flow!
Happy New Year friend! Make this year one that matters to you!
finding peace by piece:
Start by filling out your planner with what matters to you. Be intentional with your time, energy, and resources beginning by filling your jar of life first with the rocks, then the pebbles, then the sand, and finally the water.
