Community Service & Camaraderie

Want to get more involved in community service? Looking for some adult friends?

If you are between the ages of 25 - 45 and want to get more involved with your community and with the camaraderie of other young leaders who love the Lord, look no further than Echelon!

Echelon is the young professionals of The Salvation Army. I was on the founding board establishing Hawai`i’s first chapter back in 2016 and have been involved ever since serving as Past Chair, Past Advisor, and am now on The Salvation Army Honolulu Advisory Board.

Echelon was established nation wide to support The Salvation Army as it “seeks to mobilize the next generation of Salvation Army supporters through a variety of fundraising, volunteering, and networking opportunities. Echelon Hawai`i supports The Salvation Army Hawaiian and Pacific Islands and its efforts to provide shelter, food, clothing, counseling and countless other services to thousands of men, women, and children in need.”

The Salvation Army’s International Mission Statement is “The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Echelon simply put is God centered, service orientated, fun, high quality, influential leaders with a purpose of serving God by serving others.

Some of the service projects Echelon does throughout the year is collecting school supplies for students in need, meeting with students throughout the year to teach generosity, kindness, and other character traits through their flagship Red Pencil Project, pack meals for the weekends for kids in need, serve meals on Thanksgiving and ring the Red Kettle at Christmas.

I’ve made some incredible friends through Echelon and continue to attend their events and service projects and have always found that it is more blessed to give than receive.

If you or someone you know may be seeking to surround themselves with leaders who love the Lord and love #doingthemostgood to help others, check out this group, Echelon!
