Book Recommendations from 2022

Here are a list of the books I read (or listened to on audio) in 2022 and my main takeaways & recommendations.

“The Gap & The Gain” By Dan Sullivan & Dr. Benjamin Hardy
**Highly recommend for achievers, #3 on the enneagram, or anyone trying to flip their perspective on their achievements and progress!
This one was amazing! Totally helped me to focus on what I had gained looking back rather than looking at the gap ahead of me. Easy to follow and makes so much sense!

“Soundtracks” by Jon Acuff
***Highly recommend for anyone!
This was soooooo good! Love how he related the things we tell ourselves to the soundtracks we replay in our head. Very relatable and helped me to become more aware of my thinking.

“Unboxed” by Van Tilborgh
**Highly recommend for believers wanting to think bigger!
Such an easy read. Can’t remember if this was 2022 or 2021, but either way it needs to be motioned. Got to listen to this author speak at Inspire Church and his simple box structure to follow, makes you actually really think outside of the box! He signed my copy, I started reading right away, and couldn’t put it down.

“The Emotionally Healthy Leader” by Peter Scazzero
This was good one for a church or business/organization leader.

“The Win Without Pitching Manifesto” By Blair Enns
This is a good business book for sales/marketing if you are in the service industry.

“Rocket Fuel” By Gino Wickman & Mark C Winters
***Highly recommend for your CEO & COO!
If you are the creator, entrepreneur, visionary or leader OR the head of operations, this book really shows you how you need each other. So many people have referred it to me along with “Traction” and it totally makes sense when you read it. I’m going to have my Production & Operations Manager read this one in 2023.

“Storybrand” by David Miller
*Highly recommend if you are in marketing or sales.
Some people say it’s hard to follow so perhaps listen to the audio. This was recommended to me by another small business owner and have met another who uses David’s strategies in his business. I had a few of my team members read this one to pull out some good nuggets particularly on how to help solve the problems of your customers.

“Atlas of the Heart” by Brene Brown
So many beautiful visuals in the book, but loved listening to her voice on audio!
If you geek out over psychology, emotions, language, this lady breaks it all down and speaks with such energy and passion. I can’t remember if I listened to this one this year or last year, but I love her way with words.

“The Power of One More” by Ed Mylett
*This was an easy read. Loved the audio and listening to Ed’s soothing voice!
Always liked Ed Mylett, but this is the first book I read by him and really enjoyed it. Super simple and easy to follow and encourages you to keep on going.

“The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey
***Highly recommend for anyone who wants to get out of debt & live financially free!
My favorite financial book! Read more about this on my wellness blog!

“Untamed” by Glennon Doyle
Ladies you’ll love this one and the encouragement to be free and be yourself! It’s a fun, real read that I’ve been curious about for a while because of the pretty cover! LOL!

“Bringing Peace To Our World, One Chocolate At A Time” by me, Erin Kanno Uehara”
I re-read this book and followed along week by week to use the lesson learned, opportunity now, and hope for our future to live my best life this past year. I also let each of the 40 chapter’s scriptures guide my blog for work throughout the year.

If you don’t like reading books, try Audible and listen to the books on your long commutes in the car or when you’re getting ready in the morning.
