Gah! The most adorable little hidden restaurant off of Monsarrat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner now open to the public! Previously available only for private weddings, this space opened up recently to serve food to the public in October 2021.
For over 4 years I’d drive down the Kapuhulu neighborhood on this road to get to the well-known little spots on Monsarrat and would sneak a peeks of a mysterious little chapel and the most charming house behind an iron gate and wonder what it was. And thanks to my friends’ Andrea and Kim’s recommendation, we chose this spot where our other friend, Pam, got married, to plan a baby shower for Nikki!
There’s a very limited menu at lunch of 3-4 pastas, but it’s perfect. Comes with a salad or soup, a drink, Dean & Deluca bread (which was nice and warm with olive and rosemary),pasta. And their dessert menu, took me right back to Japan with fruit parfait, Mont Blanc, and soda floats.
Service was sugoi! Presentation was on point. Food was oishii! The whole experience to me was a win and I will definitely go back for a breakfast and dinner experience.
If you miss Japan, this food will take you back!
I ate:
WaFu (Japanese style sauce) with mushroom and vegetables pasta set with soup & iced coffee was just right! This pasta reminded me of like a chazuke soupy pasta.
Dessert trio - Highly recommend this authentic matcha ice cream, warabi mochi, and warm azuki bean .
Erin’s Experience Tips:
Dress cute and bring your camera! You will want to take pictures everywhere!
Carpool if you can, otherwise parking can sometimes be limited.
If you are entertaining guests from Japan, they will probably love it here or if you want to share Japan-style-food with someone who hasn’t been to or misses Japan, this is it!
Totally reserve this place for a girls get-together or celebration. Honto kawaii!!!!
