The Modern Honolulu

The Modern Honolulu hotel in Waikiki has a poolside dining spot that is one of my faves!

I have been daydreaming about a quick getaway or an affordable staycation, which reminded me that I never wrote about my 24 hour stay at The Modern Honolulu a while back.

The Modern is a simple hotel on the outskirts of Waikiki with some really affordable rates. The check in process was easy, parking convenient, and the room was simple, white, and had a good couch for me to read on.

But truthfully, I spent a majority of my time on the tables and chairs by their pool where I enjoy their fish taco, avocado toast, and burgers with fries. The service is awesome, the menu is small, but satisfying, and for some reason, it’s a spot where I really feel relaxed and love to work. Yup, work.

If you can’t afford a stay, but want to feel like you’re at one and get some good food while you’re at it, check out The Grove Restaurant and Bar at The Modern Honolulu. It’s a spot I’ve loved to visit for years and where I might just head to for a quick getaway!
