Queen Emma Summer Palace
Looking for a little Hawaiian history and the cutest little hideout that Queen Emma would spend the summers at to get away from busy life? Take a visit to the Queen Emma Summer Palace in Nuuanu.
This cultural museum is preserved by the Daughters of Hawai`i and I am so grateful for non-profit organizations like them, who care about the past so they can teach us in the present and guide us into our future!
They have self-guided tours, docent tours, and some walk-in availability that you can do in 30-60 minutes. There’s also free parking, a little gift shop, bathroom, and an adjoining park + beautiful terrace to take a little break.
What I didn’t know, was that there is also a little ballroom space to rent for meetings, events, or a small wedding.
My daughter and I loved this place for a quick trip back in Hawai`i’s history at this picturesque palace!
finding peace by piece:
Take a quick escape from the pressures of daily life and find comfort in knowing that even the Queen in Hawai`i long ago, needed it too. This was her escape from busy Honolulu life with her family and maybe an inspiration for you to find or create your own “summer palace” to refresh with loved ones.
