Ashi Hakone Cabin Air B&B

Looking for a really great air B&B or place to stay in Hakone?

If you are like me and need a pause in a trip and love to be surrounded by nature, but want to also rest inside a really clean, comfortable and cute space, then you’ll love the new Ashi Hakone Cabin Retreat!

I found it on booking.com for our trip in early June and took a chance and was pleasantly surprised to find that it felt like we were right there in nature, but with other local houses right around us, and just a 10 minute walk away from Lake Ashi with the famous pirate ship cruise, and a 15 minute walk from the major station, Togendai with the famous gondola route.

It was convenient, cute, and with the yen conversion, came out to about $350 per night. Well worth it to spread out a bit after being in a hotel in Tokyo for most of the two weeks and needing much time to be in separate rooms for some space and peace. It was also a great opportunity to sit outside in nature and feel the breeze rather than look up at concrete and hear trains and cars. It also provided a full kitchen for cooking or even outdoor BBQing, but as forewarned, you must visit a market or convenience market before arriving because there are none nearby.

Ashi Hakone Cabin is a family friendly retreat with a little patio, upstairs balcony, outdoor swing, indoor mini playground for the littles, a really big pull down screen for all your streaming services, WiFi, and your private onsen bath which is why most people come to Hakone…for the hot springs!

There are 6 cabins on property so it is a really great option if traveling with family and friends and each cabin comes with two bedrooms and sleeps up to 9 or 10 people.

Below is a video so you can see it for yourself as I noticed there isn’t a lot out there on the Internet about this space…perhaps because it’s new. So it’s clean, the communication with the host was very quick and helpful, and the check in and check out process was easy.

I highly recommend this place! So does my family who LOVED it!
