Cleaning That Drawer

Do you have “that drawer” that is always hard to close? The one you have to keep rearranging the things inside just to get it to close? Or in frustration, sometimes you just leave the dang drawer open?

How about cleaning it?

LOL! I don’t know why sometimes I talk about decluttering and donating, but even for me, it doesn’t apply to “that drawer.”

But this is how we can do it:

  1. Take every single thing out.

  2. One at a time, item by item, ask yourself if you’ve used it in the past one year? If yes, keep it. If not, donate it so someone else can enjoy it.

  3. Wipe out the empty drawer.

  4. Put everything back in with some reasoning or logic to how you’re putting it back in. (eg: Pans together, bowls and matching covers together, etc).

  5. Bonus: Show it to your family so they can see, what the drawer should look like now and where everything belongs. :p

Ok go do it! You’ll be glad you finally did!

erin’s tip
Sounds simple, yet sometimes we forget to make the time to do even these things. And when we do, it feels like quite the accomplishment and we wonder why we didn’t do it sooner. :p Give yourself a pat on the back! I’m high-fiving you from here! You conquered “that drawer!”
