Poke

We ate poke every day. Yup. When we hosted our family from Japan, they wanted to eat poke every single day. We were all surprised, but learned that they don’t have poke, or don’t have good poke, where they live.

And so we ate poke from everywhere including one of my favorite places, Off the Hook in Manoa just down the road from us at Choco le`a.

I love their fun crunchy toppings on their super fresh poke bowls and sushi rice. They are especially known for their ginger and Japan style poke, though good old shoyu is still my favorite.

There’s always a line, but service is quick and my Japan family loved their poke!

If you are hosting friends from Japan, make sure you feed them poke!
