January Specials At Choco le`a
Happy New Year chocolate friends!
It’s a new year and that means over at Choco le`a, we have begun our lineup of new specials including rotating seasonal specials every single month! There’s A LOT for January and we kicked off the year strong! Especially with Chinese New Year, Football Season, and Valentine’s Day just around the corner at the beginning of February, we had to get right to it with January so that the month wouldn’t pass us by!
In addition to offering some healthier options like our 72% truffle, we also created a fun movie night snack pack for everyone needing to chill after the holidays. This was a fun collaboration with local businesses, Island Popper, Wholesale Unlimited, and Diamond Bakery.

But first, I wanted to slow down for a bit and focus on one truffle to show you how much thought and care can go into one single flavor. Our brand new Dassai 23 Sake with Ginza Tanaka gold flakes is made up of ingredients from my recent trip to Tokyo and is featured in our brand new 1pc Truffle Box!
Our new 1pc Truffle Box has been secretly in the works for months with local designers, box engineers and packaging made locally right here in Hawai`i with food safe ink and sustainable FSC and green box paper. But we weren’t sure what would be the first truffle flavor to welcome it into our lineup and make its debut.
That is, until I took a trip to Japan in October and we traded chocolates for gold and sake….
I went to visit my dear sweet friend, Sayaka, and her family in Tokyo where she gifted us a bottle of this sake. And anything Sayaka gifts me over the years has always been of the best quality. Her taste is sublime and so I knew this was too good of a bottle to drink alone and had to be shared through our chocolates.
She also gifted us 24K edible gold flakes from the best of the best, Ginza Tanaka. Ginza, known as the most glamorous shopping district of Tokyo, hosts Ginza Tanaka, founded in 1892 specializing in precious metals and sits on the same famous strip with Harry Winston and Tiffany and Company. This beautiful store provides amazing service and their store manager, spent some time talking with our family when we went to drop off some chocolates and pick up more gold to top these very special truffles.
These special ingredients carry so much meaning because of the people behind them and the business there we love to support. They were hand carried home and carefully crafted into our truffles we knew we wanted to kick off 2024 to celebrate with. Wishing you a smooth year (like this sake) with a little sparkle and shine (like the 24K gold) and packed with flavor (like the chocolate)!
