ONE Year Older
I’m turning ONE year older and I’m really hoping that this year, I will be ONE tiny bit wiser, happier, and kinder.
ONE is my word for this year and I have been trying to focus on one God, one mission, one team, working together as one, and taking things one day at a time. I also feel my soul wanting to get home earlier so I can spend more time with my kids in this season of their life because I see the time flying by. I am really starting to see how people say, “The days are long, but the years are short.” We have hit the half way mark until they are 18 and out of the house off to college. And so I want to also focus on on my ONE family and every single day that we get to have together.
I have felt the overwhelm in just the first quarter of this year and am longing to simplify everything about my life to enjoy one thing at a time and make it one bit better and being content with that. I struggle to do this because before I can work on the one thing I really want to do, I have to be willing to let go the one thing I still grip my control over.
Isn’t that funny how a birthday, can make you reflect on the past year and think about what you want the next one year to look like?
These are the thoughts running through my mind this month that I share with you in hopes that it encourages you to take a moment to reflect on your past year and intentionally think about what you will do in this next one year.
What are you thinking about as you turn ONE year older?
We all turn one year older, one year at a time. Time is the great equalizer. And we can find peace by piece in making this next year, THE year, that we….
You finish the sentence. ;)
