Ceilings
I love to look up and look at ceilings. And because I deeply appreciate architectural design and art, I started noticing that a lot of attention are given to ceilings and I wondered why.
I researched and found that architects use ceilings to define the space you are in and determine the overall look and feel. An open space also opens up our minds to thinking. Artists could enhance their creativity and simulate experiences that once felt impossible to do.
And after reading this, it also made sense to me because ceilings are the untouched spaces that we can’t get our hands on. An area in a crowded room that no one leans up against or spills drink on. It’s also where we find ourselves daydreaming and looking to when we are bored or in a crowded area, and it really does give us the sense of space when entering a room and taking it all in for the first time.
And looking up at ceilings like these (New York City Grand Central Station and the Public Library) has me sighing an audible, “Wow.”
Do you notice ceilings too? Or maybe you will starting now. I like to think that the architects and artists, also put time into their work on ceilings to remind us to look up to Him, the one who with Him, all things are possible.
Do you often wonder if you can get out of your seemingly impossible situation?
Let’s find peace by piece in looking up with wonder to the one God with whom, anything is possible.
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” -Matthew 19:26
