How A Little Chocolate Can Go A Long Way
A little gift of gratitude can go a long way.
I’ve seen it over and over again and that was the inspiration to the creation of our Tokens of Appreciations at Choco le`a.
We wanted to create something affordable, about the $1 price point, that could easily be shared with many people. A sweet and simple way to say “thank you,” so that any of our chocolate friends could be a part of our mission, of “Bringing peace to our world, one chocolate at a time.”
A few years ago, we invested in our first ever professional custom chocolate mold of our logo, a koa`e `ula, carrying a cacao branch as a symbol of peace. These now solid dark chocolate tokens are tucked into a tiny packet with our company story, and are the perfect taste to hand out.
Pro Tip: I always keep a few in my refrigerator and when going to an event, conference, expo, dinner, or anywhere I think I may run into someone I’d like to bless or show gratitude to, I slip these into my purse.
And I’ve seen time and time again, when you unexpectedly give them to someone who is working hard, serving others and YOU bless THEM, it completely changes everything!
One story I like to tell is of a lady in a parking booth I’d see pretty often. Every time I drove up to the booth to pay, she barely looked up. She didn’t smile, didn’t say hi, and seemed to just always be grouchy. One day, I took her one of these Tokens of Appreciation and introduced myself and asked her for her name. I told her I just wanted to share with her a few of my favorite locally made chocolates for her to enjoy. Her face lit up. She sat up a little taller. And she smiled, a BIG smile! Her reaction felt like she was grateful that someone not only noticed her, but wanted to lift her up, and thank her for doing her job. Since then, every time I see her, we say hello to each other by name, with a smile, and it feels like a part of the week we both look forward to. And that’s just from using a little chocolate to help us connect and sweeten relationship.
