The Great Commission

“Go and make disciples…” Jesus’s last instructions to His disciples in the book of Matthew, chapter 28, is the start of this chapter in my life titled, “Blogging.”

In the last commission and in many other times of prayer and journaling for the past 1 ½ years, I’ve heard God tell me to “Go” and make this site!  It has taken me forever to get started because I worried about…well everything! Would anyone like it? Can I write? What will they think? But He reminded me in a gentle whisper the other day, (while standing in front of my kitchen microwave), that this is not about me. It is about Him. It is for Him and in turn will also benefit myself and others like you!

And so, if I do nothing else and if this is the only blog I write, this will be it.

I am led by faith and for a while now, I’ve felt the prompting to start this blog. As unsure as I still am about this, there is one thing I do know for sure. God has always been faithful and anything He has ever told me to do and I’ve done, I have not regretted it and have been truly blessed by it (eg: Committing my life to Him, giving up my plans for His plans, marrying my husband, leaving my full time job to start a chocolate shop called Choco le`a and the list goes on. Perhaps I’ll tell you more about them all in this blog!

The other thing I know for sure is that He will be with me on this journey. “…Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” is what He reminds us in the Great Commission. I know I am not alone and if only a few read this, but I can save at least one person and lead perhaps YOU to the Lord by sharing His love, then I will consider this a success.

When I looked up the definition of “commission,” the Google dictionary states, “an instruction, command, or duty given to a person or group of people.”  My duty here , is to tell you that God is real and that He is good. He has and continues to have a profound impact on my life and here is where I’d love to share with you more about it.

If you want to begin this journey with Him, it’s simple.  Say this in your heart:

“Dear Jesus. I believe that you are the son of God. I believe that you came to Earth and died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead, and that whoever believes in you, will have eternal life. I repent of my sins and ask you to come into my life. Be my Lord and Savior. I want to start a relationship with you. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.”
