6 Year Old Boy Gifts

Buying birthday gifts for kids that are a different age or gender from your own is always tricky. Everyone who didn’t have a 6 year old boy invited to Conner’s birthday party, was texting me, “What does Conner want? What are they into now-a-days?”

Getting gifts can be stressful rather than joyful for some people and although I can’t speak for all 6-year old boys, this is what my son and his friends are really into now. Three things he asked for that he got and even though we didn’t know about 2 out of the 3 of these things, we found that it has made him super happy!

  1. Beyblade

  2. Bakugan

  3. Pokemon

Just listing these things to friends was helpful, but what they really appreciated was photos and links. I had to ask Conner what Beyblade and Bakugan was since he learned about it from his other friends at school. We looked it up online and he showed me pictures. We even found links to the exact ones he wanted and we sent them to other parents who asked what to get. They really appreciated the no-stress gift giving and our son was super happy with what he received!

Another option is to gift them cash. Our kids do extra chores to earn spending money so when they receive money, they see the value and can’t wait to go shopping to pick out something they want. It’s also another opportunity for them figure out how much they have and what they can afford. (#momtrepreneur)

Don’t stress out. If you don’t enjoy shopping for gifts, just ask for help.

erin’s tip

For the friends who get stressed out on gifts, send them photos and links. This made it sweet and simple and they really appreciated it. Plus no returning or duplicates for you and your kid is happy with a variety of things he really wanted!
