5 Gift Ideas For New Parents
My husband and I agree these are some of our favorite things!
1. A Van
Two words: “sliding doors.” I love my Toyota Sienna and if I had to tell people what my part time job was, I think it would be a van salesperson because I’m always sharing with others things I love and one of the biggest things I love is our van. It has changed my life and I always joke Toyota should hire me for a commercial! LOL! But really, having a van was one of the biggest, but best investments for our family by far.
2. A Real Good Book
Honestly, I felt very lonely as a new mom and missed interacting with adult humans. Reading a real, authentic, book about the struggles of being a working mom helped me to not feel so isolated and also helped me to feel normal. That is why I strongly suggest my book for moms, especially working moms or moms who miss working and are looking to possibly start a business or side hustle. It is encouraging, but also downright real with no filter or frills. This has even been helpful for husbands and dads who have a hard time relating to how their wife may be feeling.
3. Food Delivery
Whether it’s cooking and delivering, or getting restaurant or market delivery, all is appreciated! Parents got to eat and suddenly find themselves with less time. When I was pregnant, a friend got me credit to Bitesquad. Food delivery to your home was still a very new concept and I would have been apprehensive to try it had she not gotten me into it. After experiencing how convenient it was, it was a special treat to enjoy my favorite restaurant food at home since I no longer found myself going out to restaurants like before.
4. Date Time
Giving a new couple some time away whether to dress up, eat slowly, and look at each other, or run around and play and get exercise, time is more valuable than ever and truly appreciated.
5. Parent Gifts
The baby got a lot of presents and is now getting a lot of attention. Anything you can give that’s specifically for mom or dad is now appreciated more than ever! One idea is lash extensions so mom can feel dolled up by someone else when she’s not feeling so pretty and always tired and can also score a nap at the same time!
Other things like a good quality stroller, car seats, a good pump, diapers and wipes were some other awesome investments! Always check out the registry or if you are a parent, share the things that worked best for you like the swaddle or swing that “saved your life!” :)
