Staycation

A staycation alone has been one of my favorite rewards I look forward to since I become a mom. A friend recently asked me, “What does one do on staycation alone?”

Well twice a year, I booked a staycation alone. It’s 24 hours to refresh and relax and basically consists of reading, journaling, praying, listening, and writing. (It’s also just good old time to not hear “mommy, mommy, mommy” or see mess, mess, mess!) :p

The one I take toward the end of the year is to reflect on the past year and figure out how close I came to accomplishing my goals and how I wanted to focus and end the year strong. The one I take at the beginning of the year, I do a calendar audit (more on that in another blog) and set my intentions and focus for the year ahead.

What I Pack:
My desktop (For real, I set up my desktop, keyboard, and mouse)
Bible
Journal
Pen
Book
Chocolates (I also do a little photo shooting in the beautiful clean hotel space while I’m at it)

Routines
A staycation allows me to live out routines that I preach:
#routine1 #prayer
#routine3 #value
#routine8 #change
#routine9 #plan
#routine10 #learn
#routine12 #choose
#routine13 #break
#routine18 #dream

Staycations are always well worth it! I feel most connected to God when just stopping the usual day-in and day-out for 24 hours just me and Him. I feel ready and “confident of this, that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 1:6

I highly suggest you book at least one to two 24 hour staycations for yourself per year!
