Bishop Museum
Winter break is coming up soon and if you’re looking for things to do with your kids, I’ll continue to share what we love here on this blog!
I am so glad we revisited good old Bishop Museum thanks to the generosity of a chocolate friend who gifted our family passes! Thank you so much!
Now that the kids are older (5 and 7), they are much more interested in museums. It was a walk down memory lane for my husband and I who loved this nostalgic place we visited on field trips and kids and still perfectly well kept like we remembered it. Only now as adults, we were much more interested in reading the signs with each of the historical artifacts from Hawai`i and the Pacific.
But for the kids, they especially loved the new “volcano science side” that had all things that interest them like birds, fishes and insects! I think they stayed on this side alone for one hour and enjoyed the hands-on-activities the most! And the adults enjoyed the air conditioning too!
I forgot to write more about our experience while it was fresh in my head (which I guess means I have to go back again)! :p Plus it’s so big we didn’t get to see the planetarium and I think next time, we will also make it a lunch stop and enjoy their cafe!

This is a great activity to do whether it’s just you and one child, or with another family without kids or with a retired teacher who still has that love for learning and teaching inside him/her. Seriously, it’s a worth it and educational for everyone!
