So Much Yet To See

Six years ago, I went to Nagoya, Japan for a work trip and on my free day, I visited the aquarium there. I remember seeing the big tank of sardines and the massive other tanks of sea creatures and thought, “Oh my kids would love it here! I need to bring them one day!”

So I did.

And they loved it just like I thought they would! My 8 year old son stared into that same tank of sardines and said, “Whoa!” Those six years flew by and watching them both look in wonder and amazement of the great big world out there and experience new things, filled my heart with so much joy. I was grateful our family could give them this opportunity to travel this summer and I was also filled with so much motivation to show them more!

It made me wonder if this is how our Heavenly Father feels? Like He has so much out there yet for us to see and wants us to experience it all too?

I wouldn’t have taken our kids on this trip if they weren’t well behaved at home, if they weren’t kind to others, if they didn’t keep up with their school work, or if they didn’t show great cooperation and effort in their activities. They are good kids and to my husband and I, they earned all of this and we still want to give them more.

Maybe it’s the same with God? He wants to give us more and show us more, but first, we must be obedient and live out our lives in faith and obey what He has already told us to do. (Oh my gosh I felt like He just nodded and tugged at my heart since I know writing these blogs are a reflection for myself too!)

Let us remember He created the world and us and it is up to us, to make the most of what He has given and care for what and who is around us.

Do you feel like there’s so much yet to see?

Let us not be eager and impatient, but find peace knowing that if we are obedient day by day to do what He gives us to do and love the people around us, He will slowly expand our world. Piece by piece, He will give us more opportunities to continue to love others in bigger ways!
