Living out of Avocado Boxes

While going through our moving season, all of our stuff came out of the closets, drawers, and cabinets and went into avocado boxes.

These really nice and sturdy boxes, were collected one at a time from Costco by my father-in-law. They were so helpful to move all of the things and carry them manageably up and down the stairs. It was where our stuff stayed in for a while until our new space was ready with empty closets and cabinets to transfer into.

In our seasons of moving and transitions, sometimes we will have to temporarily live out of avocado boxes. It is not ideal and we may be eager to get it organized and into furniture and off of the floor, but we may need to make do in the waiting period before the next season can begin. Ironically, this is just like avocados! Unlike other fruits that ripen on the tree, avocados will not mature and ripen until after they are picked off of the tree.

Are you currently living out of avocado boxes?

Let us find peace by piece in remembering that to really enjoy an avocado, we have to wait a bit for it to become ripe and soft after it is picked. We may be picked and feel ready, but and have a little more maturing to do before we are really ready!

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways…" -Psalm 37:7
