Laundry Lint

The irritating thing about laundry lint or rubbish in a load, is it can get stuck to every single thing in the washer and dryer.

One bad towel that’s falling apart did it.

I threw it in with the rest of the load and it left an irritating surprise later when I found it shred into little white pieces and stuck to every single piece in that batch of laundry.

That’s kind of how someone with a really bad attitude in an office can be. It’s toxic. The little bits of negativity spread, they get stuck to everyone, and it’s hard to get off. Fortunately, after a crumbly towel that’s falling apart or a negative attitude spreads, everything can get thrown back in and tossed around in the wash a second time (without that towel and toxicity), and it will start to shed some of that rubbish.

Thank God Jesus gives us a chance to wipe our slate clean and start again. Sometimes, we want to point the finger at someone else, but we need to make sure we weren’t the one who threw that no good towel in there too.

What’s spreading in your life (or laundry) that you need to take out?

Let’s find peace by piece in knowing we can go through the wash again because Jesus can renew us day after day.

“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” -Psalm 51:10
