After A Storm

This one is for the people watchers.
The storm came to Hawai`i and thankfully went. And I had a front row view in one of the closest hotel rooms to the ocean and what I witnessed from my window the next morning was interesting.
There were three different groups of people.

1. Some people were out with their metal detectors, focused, and on the hunt to find something valuable that the storm may have washed up on shore.

2. Some were asking the hotel staff for trash bags so they could volunteer to clean up the debris on the beach and trash that washed ashore.

3. Some people jumped right into the water and started swimming. Almost as if they didn’t notice anything was different and they were ready to hit the ocean after being banned from it for a while.

4. Some were just standing on the beach watching it all happen and walking very slowly or not at all. Perhaps just reflecting on everything that had just happened and taking in how things were different after the storm.

I guess I found myself in this last category. How about you?
