meet erin

hey there!

I’m Erin. And I’m always running an errand (aka running an Erin) here in Honolulu, Hawai`i.

I was born and raised here and am a wife to the most adventurous local guy, mom to a 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son, a small business owner of my chocolate company Choco le`a and known around here as “your chocolate friend.”

In my past life, I was an elementary school teacher, professional dance instructor & choreographer, and artisan chocolatier.

In 2018, I began this blog to simply be a friend sharing food, places, and things in Hawaii, and now mainly focus on work and small business tips. But whatever I post, it’s with the intention to encourage you to live your life, peace by piece. Take what works for you, and go run your own errands!

  • spirit & self

At the top of my priority list is time with God and time with myself. I first fill my well with His guidance in the Word and journal time in the morning. I can then be well to give my best to everyone else.

  • family & friends

As a wife, mom of a 9 year old daughter and 7 year old son, and a friend, I try to make time for those who matter most. It’s not always easy and definitely not perfect, but I live intentionally to bring peace to their world too.

  • work

As a multi-passionate entrepreneur, small business owner, author, blogger, speaker, community board member and volunteer, I LOVE my work and am deeply passionate about helping others find ways to love their work too!

Fun Facts

  • I am completely deaf in my left ear. To compensate, I always move myself to be on the left side of the person I am speaking with. When dining in a group, I will usually pick the far left corners of the table. And when sitting in a large room, I will be on the left hand side facing the front. That’s where you can find me trying not to miss out!

  • a beautiful hotel room in Waikiki! I love staycations because I hate flying, but sometimes need to get away. I am notorious for packing a suitcase full of books, notebooks, and my laptop, elastic pants and slippers on, just to let my mind wander in a hotel room. It brings me peace and it’s my me time that refreshes me.

  • dancing and hiking! I love hip hop, jazz and contemporary dance or just blasting Alexa at home and going all out with my kids in front of the closet mirror. I also love to run away to the mountains here in Hawai`i.

  • living in Japan with a host family I didn’t know that didn’t speak any English. I learned fast, I got lost a lot, and I had to learn to speak up and find my way around. It was fun to be independent and grow up away from my paradise rock home on Oahu and I am still very close to that host family today!
